The bf and I and 9 others went "Cabining" Last weekend. I was telling people we were going camping, but then once I explained that the amenities were nicer than my own home, we started calling it cabining. We went up to north GA with enough food to feed a couple armies, and just relaxed in the beautiful weather and alcohol for the weekend. They boys even prepared a DELICIOUS BBQ saturday night of wings, chicken, burgers, and veggies on the grill. Other than me slipping and cutting open my elbow (which a week later is still not close to healed), we had a good time. We got back to Atlanta at noon, and I had the afternoon to catch up on life. That evening though was Alan's Superbowl party. Admittedly, I didn't know who was playing until that day when a friend mentioned he was rooting for the Steelers. It wasn't until we got to the party that I found out who the Steelers were playing. I paid about 10% attention to the game and about 90% attention to the delicious snacks that Alan and the guests cooked up. By the 4th quarter, I'd switched opposite gears and was watching the game intently. What an ending!
This week was a regular week for me, including some dancing, dance practice, Tango class, and my hot water heater going kaput. The coldest week of the year was not the time for this to happen, but I don't think that any time is a good time for your hot water heater to die. On Wednesday I went in to work late so I could meet the plumber at my house. He hit a reset button on the fuse, and said that was my problem. I told him point blank that I thought he was wrong and that he'd be back the next day. He assured me that if they had to come back, they wouldn't charge me. So I am thinking great. so when it breaks, at least the annoyance of not getting a hot shower and having to miss more work is the least of my worries. Arrggh. Of course it broke immediately, so I had to call them back. Yesterday another plumber came and told me it was going to be $400 to fix my 11 year old water heater. No thank you. I went ahead and bought a new one, and they're supposed to come this afternoon to install it. I hope it goes well!
Meanwhile, my grand plan of taking a buddy pass ticket to go to Argentina just flopped. the plane which was originally more than half empty each way is now oversold by 8 people. Dang it. After much searching, I managed to buy a ticket which was, after taxes, only $632!!! That is about half of the usual rate to Buenos Aires. Unfortunately there is one stop each way, but as long as I make my connections, I'll sit much easier knowing I have a guaranteed flight.
This week I have been really good about getting back into working out. I have not worked out almost at all over the last few months, and I felt horrible as a result. But I started running and working out again this week, and I feel so much better. I am more alert, sleep better, and just in an overall better mood. Yay!!
