Me: I am an engineer.
NR: Really? that's odd.
Me: Odd?
NR: yeah, I never met anyone that wanted to grow up and be an engineer. a firefighter maybe, but never an engineer.
Me: Professional baseball didn't work out.

Wow, New Receptionist is not very tactful. You should've replied "I never met anyone who wanted to become a receptionist ..."
Oh man, that's cold Ethan.
I wanted to be a race car driver when I was a kid. Then I wanted to be a fighter pilot.
Then I decided I just wouldn't grow up :)
In kindergarden we had to give a presentation for the parents about what we wanted to be and why. I chose firefighter because that way I got to sit next to a cute girl. I don't remember her name but I have a picture of her somewhere, hehe.
