After my last post reminiscing of years past, I can only write about the future here, right?
This year has started awesomely. I spent New Years weekend in Asheville, NC at Lindy Focus dance camp. I didn't really know what to expect going in, but after an interesting first evening filled with the drive the Asheville, tryouts and dancing, camp began with a bang. For four days, we spent most of every day in class, learning new moves, techniques, and styles. One session of classes was dedicated solely to a choreographed routine, and that was actually pretty cool. As I always say, I love these weekends of dance because not only the classes, but the practice with new leads improves my dancing. I come home only wanting to dance. I was lucky to have been paired with an awesome guy for the class routine, and got to know new friends as the weekend went on.
After dancing from 10pm new years eve until 7:30 am on new years day, all I wanted to do was sleep. But no, I had to drive to Atlanta and do stuff, so I just got a regular night's sleep. While Wednensday night then should've been my "catch-up" night, i just couldn't pass up going dancing at Graveyard Tavern. I guess I'll just have to wait to sleep for the weekend since tonight we have tiny bunch practice and we'll be doing Aerials.
I am looking forward to another great year with friends, family, and some awesome dances.
